Description
Hardanger is a traditional stitchcraft originating in Norway, where it is used to decorate national costume, and is most commonly incorporated into placemats and tablecloths.
This piece is bringing the use of Hardanger up to date!
It is stitched on white hardanger fabric, using white Perle threads in size 8 and 12.
The cross has been beaded using size 8 and 10 glass seed beads giving it an almost regal look.
It has been stitched within a beautiful Nurge inch wide hoop and then framed onto a red background.
The total size of the framed piece is 40 x 40 cm.
It took over 60 hours to stitch and has appeared in two separate exhibitions in Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
You also have the option of commissioning your own Hardanger design. Please complete the form on this page to enquire.
