Dear Betty,
What a day! I’ve spent the day on paperwork, and updating the Workshop Calendar, I’ve got to say, its looking pretty good!
This is just to get us started – I’ve still got to work on the additional classes for Hardanger and Blackwork etc, so its going to be a busy one!
Spread this far and wide, and lets build our own Stitchery community for 2025!
Hi Betty & Co,
Things are hotting up here at the Stitchery, with lots of events, workshops and products all coming within the next few weeks!
We’ve just come back from a lovely holiday in Cornwall and are relaxed and happy, and boom! Lots of orders to sort, and kits to develop, and events to prepare for! My head is spinning!
Its all good though.
So………… check out our new hoop – Starry Skies, as well as the first of our ornaments – Burgundy and beads, theyre both beautiful.
We still have more to come though. There’s another two this week, and may be some more next week!
Go on, buy someone a kit for Christmas, you know you want to!
Lots of love
Sam xx
Afternoon Betty & Co,
Have you seen the weather out there?!
Like any good Englishwoman, I’m typical in that I have to comment on the weather, but I have to say I love the rain. When you’re out in it and wearing a big coat and your hood is up, and boots are on, there is nothing better.
When you’re inside and watching through the window, it is snuggly and warm, and it feels lovely.
Its also a fabulous reason to stitch!
This week has been a little busy and trying to find time to actually sit down and stitch has been difficult, but those little half hours have been productive.
So… I’ve been working on the two releases on the Blackwork front, and hopefully they will be ready shortly. The first is a simply patter, ideal for beginners, with a bonus upgrade on the same pattern, for when the confidence kicks in.
The second is a little bigger and takes that confidence a little further, but will take your practice
into an area of competence and your confidence will be able to handle difficult patterns after this one, and i believe you will also be able to reduce your stitch size.
Both kits will be available as soon as i can get finished and photographed.
I’m also working on my final submission for a course I’m working on, and well as drafting an idea for a competition that I’m considering entering a piece for next year.
Meanwhile, we’ve been decorating, adding another parrot to our flock, looking after granddaughters, getting over a weird bug and a whole host of other life normalities.
Anyways, got to dash – got to get some serious stitches sorted!
Speak soon Betty.
Love Sam x
So I’m Sorry.
For the one person who reads this I’m really sorry.
Fresh beginnings and energy and good intentions, and to my one loyal customer out there in the wilderness – I will not let you down!
So….. first of all the website. The website is undergoing some subtle changes, our colours have changed a little. Weve moved slowly from our orange and teal over more to the Navy. We will still the core colours, but I just wanted to just tone down the website.
Over coming days the photos will start changing, and the content will then follow.
Our bead selection will increase in line with our Etsy shop and postage will level out across the two sites.
We will be losing a lot of completed pieces from here and they will go over to Etsy at a reduce rate. Only kits and exhibition pieces will stay on here.
We will be sharing book updates on here with you like the incredible book by Jess Chorley published recently (if you havent bought it, go get it, and any exhibitions that we’ve attended or that are up and upcoming. We recently went to see ‘Threshed Memories/Little Pieces of Me’ by Alison Woolacott at the Brewhouse in Burton on Trent and I have to say it was fabulous, well worth a visit, especially if you appreciate work that is thought-provoking.
Back to the website – our plans for a stitch library are underway. Our Information library is beginning and that will give the basic overview of differing types of embroidery from across the world and across time. This will take time to build so bear with us, but it something i am very excite about.
We will also get to the workshops.
Finally, our kits will begin to expand. Our Blackwork offers are ready to go, and our Hardanger will follow behind. I think it will be after Christmas when our Embroidery and Sashiko kits arrive on the site.
All is good.
I will be back here next Monday. I promise!
See you next week Betty!
Sam
